So together, let us explore what makes it important keeping your skin hydrated plus tips and tricks on how to achieve youthful, glowing skin. One good reason why you should level up your skin care habit – most especially in keeping your skin hydrated is the fact that it helps your skin from looking older. Skin’s moisture level plays an important role in keeping that young looking skin as its gives skin plumper appearance that minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. Last time, we talked about ways on how you can combat skin aging, now let us try to explore more on how you can lock in your skin’s moisture in order for you to achieve that younger looking, soft and supple skin whole year round. Bet you’re all excited for this!
1. Keep showers short
In as much as you love indulging in a bubble bath while singing on top of your lungs, sorry but we think bathroom concerts should soon be limited. Did you know that longer shower time may strip away much of the skin’s oily layer and may cause it to lose moisture? Yes! Try limit yourself to a 5-10 minutes bath. On top of that, stop sticking to your belief that hot water is a good way to removing the bacteria to your skin. The fact is, it will actually do more harm than good! Hot water also strips off skin’s natural oil leaving your skin feeling dry and tight. Use lukewarm water in washing your face and body.
2. Moisturize after cleansing
Moisturizing is as important as cleansing. Moisturize at least twice a day: once after you shower in the morning and once after you cleanse your face at night. Always see to it that you apply moisturizer right after cleansing your face as it helps locking in the moisture. If you notice that your skin feels dry despite moisturizing regularly, perhaps, it is the time for you to make a big switch.

3. Exfoliate the flaky spots away
Bet you don’t like when that dry, flaky spots has started to show up. That is your reminder to exfoliate already. Exfoliating is essential to maintaining soft and healthy looking skin because it slough off all dead skin cells. Make it a habit to exfoliate once or twice a week in order to get rid of the dead skin cells.
4. H20 all the way!
Don’t you remember? Last time we’ve mentioned that we are all literally a human version of watermelon – mostly composed of waters. You can’t even last 3 days without water. That is how important it is. Skin being the largest organ reaps the benefits of the water that you consume. For that smooth and supple skin – we will say this over and over again! For the record, (though you know it already) Drink 8 glasses of water a day!
5. Eat well
When we say eat well we don’t mean indulging yourself to an all-out buffet or Korean barbeque! Guilty, are you? Eating well means eating a healthy and balanced diet. This means eating healthy foods that is beneficial to your skin. Caring for your skin is a long term commitment. So as early as now, make it a habit to including healthy food on top of your list because your skin gets the moisture and nutrients it needs to function properly from the food and drink you eat. Make it a habit to eat lean protein such as chicken and fish. Healthy fats like nuts.
